Presenting in my shop now, five new paintings from a small collectable postcards series I started in 2005 that has been stored away in my archive for eleven years.
The concept behind these little paintings was for me to have some fun working with several familiar themes and in a medium different to oils in order to create several series of inexpensive original paintings for collectors. Illness prevented me from getting very far into the project, starting just two series, and the paintings that I had completed in 2005 were put away until now.
Each numbered artwork, although sharing the same theme and title, is a unique original Watercolour and Gouache painting on high quality Bockingford 300gsm watercolour paper. The back of each work is signed and dated with pencil and I have also written information there about the mediums and paper etc. for conservation purposes.
I have personally mounted each work in an acid free double mat, conveniently ready for instant DIY framing in any inexpensive “off the shelf” 10 inch x 8 inch photo frame. Alternatively, frames can be bought ready-made online or the work can be taken to a framer for a custom made frame. It is your choice how to finish them for hanging.
At the time I make these paintings available for purchase, the “Desolation” theme has just five works in total on Bockingford paper so this is an extremely limited set. There are only two other paintings of the “Desolation” theme aside from these five. They are both gouache on mat board and will be placed in my shop when I have them matted and ready for sale.
